PURPOSE:To improve a beam mode in uniformity without deteriorating it in laser oscillation efficiency by a method wherein a means which increases the side of a rod on an exciting lamp side in cooling efficiency and another means which decreases the other side of the rod opposite to the exciting lamp side in cooling efficiency are provided to make the rod uniform in temperature distribution. CONSTITUTION:A means which increases the side of a rod 1 on an exciting lamp 3 side in cooling efficiency and another means 6 which decreases the other side of the rod 1 opposite to the exciting lamp 3 side in cooling efficiency are provided to make the rod 1 uniform in temperature distribution. As mentioned above, the side of the laser rod 1 on an exciting lamp side and the other side of the laser rod 1 are made different from each other in cooling efficiency taking the advantage of a cooling medium W itself, whereby the temperatures of both of the sides can be equal to each other. By this setup, a beam mode can be improved in uniformity without deteriorating a laser oscillation efficiency. |
