PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a computer system by executing a diagnostic program under the control of an operating system at the intervals of a prescribed time while a work is operated. CONSTITUTION:A diagnostic starting means 8 starts the diagnostic program 1 based on an interruption signal generated at a prescribed interval from an interruption designation means 3 and the diagnostic program 1 sets the state of hardware, selectively starts a setting means 2, collects state data and diagnoses the fault of the setting means 2. The diagnostic starting means 8 prohibits interruption less than a prescribed level at the time of executing the diagnostic program 1. Thus, the diagnostic program 1 can securely and speedily diagnoses the fault of the setting means 2 under the control of the diagnostic starting means 8. |
