MOVING VECTOR GENERATING SYSTEM FOR MOVING COMPENSATION ENCODING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To make the circuit scale small by not detecting a moving vector independent of each of shared picture signals and applying a movement detection with a narrow rage to other shared picture signal when a wide range of detection is applied to one shared picture signal. CONSTITUTION:A 1st moving vector generating means 2 applies movement compensation coding to a 1st picture signal according to a 1st moving vector generated by the means 2. A 2nd moving vector generating means 4 predicts a moving vector of a 2nd picture signal by using the 1st moving vector. The 2nd moving vector is generated from the surrounding of the moving position to be predicted and moving compensation encoding is applied to the 2nd picture signal according to the 2nd moving vector. Thus, the moving detection of the picture signals shared is implemented efficiently and economically to make the circuit scale small.
