PRODUCTION OF HIGH PURITY COPPER

摘要

PURPOSE:To produce high purity soft copper having superior electrical conductivity and superior softening characteristics at low temp. by electrolyzing copper in an electrolytic bath contg. CuCl and alkylpyridinium halide and by melting copper electrodeposited on a cathode in vacuum. CONSTITUTION:A bath contg. CuCl and alkylpyridinium halide in an org. solvent is used as an electrolytic bath. A copper anode as raw material and a cathode on which copper is electrodeposited are placed opposite to each other in the electrolytic bath and electrolysis is carried out. Copper electrodeposited on the cathode is melted in vacuum as usual or is melted under oxidation in the air and melted in vacuum. High purity copper of 99.999-99.9999% purity is obtd. with high productivity.
