There is described a gripper rod made of fibre-reinforced polymer tapes (prepregs) as rack for shuttleless weaving machines. A number of the fibre-reinforced polymer tapes (4, 7) have been arranged stacked on top of one another in the manner of contour lines and are formed according to the envisioned tooth profile in conjunction with a pressing operation and a heat treatment. To achieve better wear resistance and a lighter weight with minimal manufacturing expense, the fibre-reinforced polymer tapes (4, 7), before being bonded together by pressing and heating, are initially provided stacked alternately on one another in mutually crossed angular degrees, relative to the fibre direction. In this arrangement, the angular orientation of the prepregs the laminate is symmetrical, and in the crossing regions the angular degrees are in each case within the range from 15 DEG to about 25 DEG . ……
