PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for lighting mode switching operation when switching the power source on to obtain the lighting in the same mode as the previous lighting is required by providing a backup power source in order to maintain the set state of a mode setting means which can preset a lighting mode at the time when the power source is switched on. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a mode setting means 4 which can preset a lighting mode at power-on and a backup power source which maintains the set state of the mode setting means 4. The backup power source comprises a secondary battery BA such as a Ni-Cd battery, and a diode DB for recharging the secondary battery BA. The battery voltage is applied on a backup power terminal B of a microcomputer IC, and the internal memory (RAM) of the microcomputer IC, including the mode setting data, can be maintained for a certain period. This arrangement thus eliminates a need for a lighting mode switching operation when the power source is switched on to effect the lighting in the same mode as the previous lighting. |
