<p>PURPOSE: To regulate the relative flowing velocity or quantity of a purex solvent extracting process by measuring the density state of organic phase in an extraction column ad operating the process conditions in response to the change of the measured value. CONSTITUTION: Waste containing uranium compound is added to nitric acid aqueous solution, and uranium is converted to water soluble uranyl nitrate. Then, the uranium compound of the nitrate is liberated, the compound is bonded to tributyl phosphate, the uranium is separated from contaminant, and the separated uranium is transported upward in an extraction column 20. Then, the organic phase of the bonded uranium and tributyl phosphate is supplied to a stripping column 34, water is supplied to the column 34 in counterflow thereto, and the phosphate and organic phase are stripped from the uranium. The density of the organic phase is measured, the supplying velocity of the waste made of the mixture of the component dissolved in acid to the column 20 is regulated in response to the measured value of the density, and the maximum stable saturation by the uranium of the organic phase is ensured at the critical top stage of the column 20.</p> |
