PURPOSE:To attain a program editing support system which can facilitate the input of a parameter even with no knowledge of the parameter grammar of a specific program language by displaying a parameter form corresponding to an inputted command on a display device based on this command. CONSTITUTION:The data corresponding to an input command is read out of a reserved word table 5 with the input command data received from a reserved word input means 2 used as a read address. In this case, the data is stored in the table 5 so as to be equal to the input command data for example. A parameter form corresponding to the input command is read out of a parameter grammar definition table 6 with the data read out of the table 5 used as a read address. The read parameter form is displayed in a parameter form display area 10 of a display device 8 as the guidance. Thus the input of subsequent parameters are facilitated. As a result, the parameters inputted based on the guidance display are displayed in a command parameter input area 11 of the device 8 after the inputted commands.
