The method is for cold starting mobile machines, esp a construction machine. The machine has anIC engine and a hydrostatic drive, with the hydraulic motor supplied with hydraulic oil fed from a tank. After the start-up of the IV engine (1) the oil in the tank (4) is led through a heating circuit and only supplied to the hydrostatic drive when as a result of the heating it has reached a min viscosity. USE/ADVANTAGE - Method of minimising wear in hydrostatic drives during winter operation by heating oil unitl min viscosity is reached.
