Power station using multiple energy sources - affords solar, wind and hydroelectric power generation in integrated complex with off-peak storage facility

A power station complex is centred on a hollow tower with inner and outer walls providing an annular space subdivided by horizontal partitions (14) and vertical radial walls (not shown) to form a series of segmental compartments (15) into which water is piped. The tower (T) provides a chimney for solar heated air driving a turbine generator (not shown). Additionally, hydro-electric generator employs water from the storage segments for its turbine with 'off-peak' water return from reservoir via pump (20). Wind power generation is provided by rotors (not shown) movably mounted on platforms encircling the tower and which optimise their position w.r.t. wind direction via sensors. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables environmentally acceptable energy production from three natural sources in single installation. Energy exchange cycling of water provides improved generation efficiency during periods of low external demand.
