ANTI-FOULING COVERING FOR USE IN SUB-SEA STRUCTURES

An anti-fouling covering (10) is applied to a tubular (11) of a tubular off-shore structure to prevent fouling of the tubular by marine growths and comprises metal sheeting (13) which is deformed to provide spaced ridges or troughs (14) which extend on the covering in the axial direction of the tubular (11). The deformations (14) facilitate expansion and contraction of the covering but, especially when of inwardly directed trough form, enable the covering to have a substantially smooth exterior so encouraging a reduction in loading due to wave impingement.
