The invention concerns coated hard material particles, in particular diamonds, oxide ceramics and carbides, nitrides, silicides and borides of metals, with an encapsulating layer consisting of an alloy of metallic components inactive to hard materials and metallic components active to hard materials and reaction products produced from active metallic components of the alloy by reaction with the hard material. The coated hard material particles are obtained by atomizing a metal melt. |
