MANUFACTURE OF COLORED INSULATED CABLE

PURPOSE:To brighten the color of a colored insulated cable and reduce the loss of insulating material caused by a change of color and miniaturize an extruding machine by applying a white insulating layer on a copper conductor and providing a colored layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:A white insulating layer 2 is applied on a copper conductor 1 and a colored layer 3 is provided thereon; i.e., the presence of the white insulating layer 2 between the copper conductor 1 and the colored layer 3 prevents transmission of a specific color of the copper conductor 1 to the surface of the colored layer 3 of the insulated cable, thereby brightening the color of the colored layer. Thus the thickness of the colored layer 3 can be reduced by 20 to 50mum or so and an extruding machine for the colored layer 3 is miniaturized and also the loss of the colored insulating material caused by a change of color is reduced.
