<p>PURPOSE:To extend the life of an EEPROM by providing an area for check in a part of the EEPROM and writing/reading check data only once at the time of turning on the power source of a device. CONSTITUTION:A check classification data storage area and a check data storage area are provided in a part of the memory area of an EEPROM 1. At the time of executing the check processing, a check control means 2 writes check data in the check data storage area and reads out written data and compares both data and discriminates coincidence or disaccord between them to check whether the EEPROM 1 is good or not. At this time, check data is written/read in the manner based on data in the check classification data storage area. This check is executed only once at the time of turning on the power source of the device. Thus, the life of the EEPROM is extended.</p> |
