PURPOSE: To provide a linearity correction device for a video display device provided with a horizontal deflection circuit operated by mutually different plural scanning frequencies by providing a first capacitance, a second capacitance and a switch. CONSTITUTION: The correction circuit of raster distortion, that is nonlinear distortion, is connected to a deflection coil 44 in a deflection means 41 and it is constituted of the first and second capacitances 62 and 63 serially connected to the deflection coil 44. Then, when a power source 14 generates a first voltage level, a deflection current is made to serially flow through the deflection coil 44 and the first and second capacitances 62 and 63. Also, when a second voltage level is generated, the switch 61 parallelly connected to the second capacitance 63 functions so as to bypass the deflection current made to flow to the second capacitance 63 and the correction of a first amount is supplied to the deflection current corresponding to the first voltage level and the correction of a second amount is supplied to the deflection current corresponding to the second voltage level respectively. Thus, the horizontal deflection circuit operated by the mutually different plural scanning frequencies is obtained. |
