<p>PURPOSE:To set a recording or reproducing head for an information signal so that its magnetization direction is at right angles to the information signal, and to use the head for both by utilizing each blank track between a left and a right channel as a control track. CONSTITUTION:Sound signals 61, 62- of music, etc., are recorded on sound tracks 2L and 2R for the left and right channels in a magnetization direction parallel to the running direction of a tape 1. Control signals 81 and 82 are recorded in a magnetization direction perpendicular to that of the sound signals at respective positions on the control track corresponding to blank parts 71 and 72 between sound signals preceding respective starting ends of the sound signals 61, 62-. The control signals are recorded and reproduced by recording and reproducing heads for the sound signals. Consequently, working gaps 12L and 12R are formed at right angles to a direction A-A. Consequently, the recording or reproducing head for the information signals is used to record or reproduce the control signal and the control signals are provided between information tracks, so the value of practical use is improved.</p> |
