The driving arrangement feeds the current sensor's measurement parameter (UM) via an analogue monitoring device (U") which compares the measurement parameter with a first reference parameter (Uref1). If the reference parameter is exceeded, a first capacitor (C1) is charged but is discharged if the reference parameter is not exceeded. If the capacitor voltage falls below a signalling threshold a signal is generated. USE/ADVANTAGE - Signals detected defect in d.c. motor using simple, cost-effective technique.
