Knee-joint prosthesis with plateau part - incorporates recess which receives replaceable bearing plate

The knee joint prosthesis consists of a plateau part (1) which can in some circumstances be implanted directly onto the upper end of the shin bone. Where the stability of such an implant is uncertain, the plateau part may be additionally secured by an implant (10) which is secured to the shin bone with cement. In either case the plateau part (1) has a recess (3) to receive a bearing plate (11). A knee joint slide with a convex bearing surface rolls on the bearing plate to form the knee joint prosthesis.
