PURPOSE:To equalize temperature in each part of a cell stack and improve electricity generating efficiency by constituting the cooling pipings connected via headers to the cooling tubes in cooling plates as two sets with each set having a refrigerant flow direction opposite to that of the other set. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of cooling plates 3 and cell stacks 2 are stacked one over another. From the topmost cooling plate 3 via a header 7, a cooling pipe 5 is connected to cooling pipings 26 and 27. Cooling water as a refrigerant is supplied from the cooling pipe 26 and flows in the direction of the arrow 28. The cooling plate 3 located second from the top receives cooling water supplied from a cooling piping 24 and flowing in the direction opposite to that of the flow direction for the topmost cooling plate 3 via a header 8 in the direction of the arrow 29 through the cooling pipe 5 to the cooling piping 25. The rest of the structure is arranged so that the cell stacks 2 are sandwiched between cooling water flow directions opposite to each other. |
