The invention relates to an electric filter, through which an air or gas flow to be cleaned, containing solid particles, is conducted. The filter is formed by two or more essentially parallel, electrically conductive electrodes 1,1'. The space 2 between the adjoining electrodes 1,1' is subjected to an electrostatic field through the connection of the electrodes 1,1' to different potential. In the space 2 between the electrodes there is arranged a filter material layer 3, which wholly fills the space 2 between the two adjoining electrodes 1,1'. A thin metal foil or a corresponding electrically conductive layer acts as the electrode 1,1'. <IMAGE>
