The heating system is particularly for vehicles, caravans, boats etc, having an enclosed combustion chamber heated by open flames from solid, liquid or gaseous fuel and heating a transfer medium in a surrounding chamber. The medium is transported round the circuit by a pump driven by an electric motor, the electricity for which is provided by a thermo-electric generator heated by the flames. The generator is a semiconductor plate (8), so mounted in the flue (6) from the combustion chamber (1) that the side to be heated lies in the path of the combustion gases, while the cold side is towards the ambient air.
