PURPOSE:To copy an original normally even when the direction of the original and output paper is different by detecting the direction of the original, comparing the direction with a direction of a sheet member, and turning picture information at a prescribed angle only when the direction is different. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 13 in a color reader 1 detects information of type of paper sheet set in a paper supply cassette 735 of a color printer 2 via a cable 511, the reader 1 reads picture information from an original and the printer 2 forms a visual image from the original and the printer 2 forms a visual image on a sheet member based on the picture information read by the reader 1. Then the direction of the original and the direction of the sheet member are compared and only when the result of comparison being different direction is obtained, picture information read by the reader 1 is turned by 90 deg.. Thus, even when the direction of the original and that of the output paper differ from each other, the original is normally copied. |
