PURPOSE:To suppress the reduction of C/N and an erasure ratio due to the repetition of recording and erasure by forming a part of a recording layer from a chalocopyrite type compound which is represented as a ternary or more compound by IIb-IVb-Vb2 of the Periodic Table and adding a compound represented by IIIb-Vb of the Periodic Table to a protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat-resistant protective layer 2, a recording layer 3, a heat- resistant protective layer 4 and a reflecting layer 5 are provided to a substrate 1. It is unnecessary to necessarily provide the heat-resistant protective layers on both sides of the recording layer and a structure only of the heat-resistant protective layer 2 or 4 may be employed. As the material of the recording layer, a chalocopyrite type compound represented by II6-IV6-V62 of the Periodic Table such as ZnGeAs, ZnSnAs2, CdGeAs2 or CdSnP2 is used. As the material of the heat-resistant protective layer, AlAs, AlSb, InP, AlP, BN or BP are used. Each of these materials can be used as the protective layer along but may be used as the mixture with conventional oxide or nitride such as SiO2 or SiN. |
