PURPOSE:To always stably operate an image carrier by moving a driving shaft provided on the device main body side to couple/separate it to/from the revolving shaft of the image carrier at the time of loading/unloading an attachable/ detachable process cartridge. CONSTITUTION:A clutch CL1 on the driving shaft side which is engaged with a clutch CL2 to transmit the power to a revolving shaft 2A of the image carrier is supported on a mobile substrate 100A together with a motor M3 which fixes the clutch CL1 as one body, and the clutch CL1 goes toward a fixed substrate 100B and is engaged with the clutch CL2 or goes back from the fixed substrate 100B and is disengaged with the clutch CL2 according as the process cartridge is loaded or unloaded. When the process cartridge is loaded/unloaded, the driving shaft provided on the device main body side is moved for connection/separation to the revolving shaft 2A of the image carrier. Thus, a photosensitive body is always stably driven and rotated. |
