摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent certainly generation of rapid acceleration caused by a trouble by judging that an exhaust bypass valve has a trouble when an intake pressure detected value at the time of supercharging by only a main turbocharger is lower than a map value and then reducing the set supercharging pressure. CONSTITUTION:Supercharging pressure is controlled by duty control of an exhaust bypass valve 41 when supercharging is operated by only a main turbocharger 7. Intake pressure downstream from a throttle valve 4 is detected by an intake pressure detecting means 30. It is judged by an engine control computer 29 that an exhaust bypass valve 41 has a trouble in its opening condition when a pressure value from the detecting means 30 at the time of supercharging operated by only the main turbocharger 7 is lower than an intake pressure map value which is found out by an engine rotational speed and a load representative value. The set supercharging pressure in the supercharging operation range of both turbochargers 7, 8 is reduced by a trouble generation signal. It is thus possible to prevent certainly generation of rapid acceleration which is caused by a trouble of the exhaust bypass valve 41, during mutual switching of two turbochargers.
