摘要 PURPOSE:To increase an output power of a laser device and reduce its size and weight, by exciting a crystal for self-generating higher harmonics, and by making the crystal emit the higher harmonic laser beam having the wavelength of the second harmonic as a blue laser beam. CONSTITUTION:A laser oscillation beam emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 is converged on a crystal 3 for self-generating higher harmonics via a converging lens 2. Hereupon, an end face 30 of the crystal 3 is coated with the film transmitting enough the laser oscillation beam of the wavelength of 0.8mum, which is emitted from the semiconductor laser 1, and reflecting enough the laser beam of the wavelength of 0.9mum. The other end face 31 of the crystal 3 is coated with the film reflecting enough the laser beam of the wavelength of 0.9mum and transmitting enough the laser beam of the wave length of 1.06mum. Further, the laser oscillation beam of the wavelength of 0.8mum band, which is emitted from the semiconductor laser 1, is absorbed enough by the crystal 3, and the laser oscillation of the wavelength of 0.9mum is performed in the crystal 3, so that a blue beam 50 of the wavelength of 0.45mum is obtained.
