PURPOSE:To stop a cage instantly when a propelling power is reduced abnormally by providing a braking device furnishing an energizing means to brake shoes to the rail side, and an operating member to separate the brake shoes from the rails when a propelling power at a specific value or higher is generated to a propelling body, to the cage. CONSTITUTION:When a cage 11 is being stopped, an operating bar 29 is in the condition to move downward in a braking device 13. As a result, brake shoes 25 and 26 are squeezed to rails 12 by the spring force of springs 27 and 28. And, in an electromagnetic brake 15, a contact A is opened to cut off the current to an electromagnetic coil 16, and thereby the brake shoes are squeezed to the rails 12 by the spring force of the springs. When the cage 11 is operated, a propelling body 14 is moved upward to the braking device 13 by the propelling power, and an operating bar 29 is moved upward to release the brake of the braking device 13. When the propelling power of the propelling body 14 is increased to balance to the cage 11, the contact A is closed to excite the electromagnetic coil 16, and the brake of the electromagnetic brake 15 is also released. |
