PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic chain tensioner device capable of suppressing generation of noise in starting a chain tensioner including a plunger for pressing a chain.SOLUTION: In a hydraulic chain tensioner device, a plunger 25 and a spring 26 are incorporated in a cylinder chamber 23 having a closed end formed on a tensioner body 22, and opened at its lower part, and an oil supply passage 27 communicated with a pressure chamber 24 and a check valve 28 are disposed. An air vent passage 31 and an air tank 32 continued to the air vent passage 31 are disposed on the closed end of the cylinder chamber 23. The air intruding into the pressure chamber 24 after stop, flows out into the air tank 32 from the air vent passage 31, and on the other hand, the inside of the pressure chamber 24 is kept in a state of being filled with an oil, with the oil in the air tank 32. A quick operation of the hydraulic chain tensioner device can be secured immediately after restarting, and generation of noise due to vibration of the chain in starting can be suppressed. |
