A light assembly of a substantially vandal proof nature is provided in that the housing (1) and translucent cover (5) of the assembly may be made substantially unbreakable, and locking members (13) are used that must be rotated in order to open the assembly. The locking members (13) have outer surfaces which do not co-operate with any commonly available tools but require a specially shaped tool (16) to be used to rotate them. The locking members (13) are conveniently internally screw threaded caps co-operating with externally screw threaded spigots (12) of which a part of each defines a formation projecting contiguously with the other from the housing (1) and closure (5). Preferably gasket means ensure that the housing (1) and closure (5) are sealed adequately to each other. <IMAGE> |
