METHOD FOR DISINFECTING AND CLEANING CONTACT LENS

PURPOSE:To effectively enhance a sterilization effect while preventing the deterioration and shrinkage of a contact lens and to allow short-time disinfection as well as to allow the sure neutralization of hydrogen peroxide in the method for chemical disinfection of the contact lens using the hydrogen peroxide as a sterilizer. CONSTITUTION:A solid alkaline agent is dissolved in an aq. soln. of 2 to 5% hydrogen peroxide to prepare a treating liquid having 0.001 to 10% alkaline component concn. and pH of 9 to 11. The contact lens is immersed into this treating liquid for an effective period of time, by which the contact lens is disinfected. The contact lens taken out of this treating liquid is thereafter neutralized by using a liquid neutralizer contg. a reducing agent and a buffer.
