The system supplies air to after-burner nozzles in the flue from a pulverised-coal furnace, to give combustion with minimum nitrous oxide emission. In a dead space (13) at the end of the combustion chamber are a number of after-burner air passages (14.1 - 14.4), connected to the furnace air system, and extending for the width of the combustion chamber. The cooling pipes (10, 11) at a deflection point form air passages with the after-burner air nozzles (20), and are connected by pipes to the passages (14.1 - 14.4). ADVANTAGE - Continuous cooling of after-burner air passages, and good air distribution. |
