A sensor for detecting a squeezing of articles or body parts in electromotively driveable doors, windows, roller blinds, sliding roofs and the like and a method for operating the sensor are provided. The sensor (10) contains an electrically conductive plastic (13), the electrical resistance of which can vary as a result of changes of shape. There is a monitoring of the sensor (10), in which a voltage occurring at a sensor terminal (17) in two different operating states is monitored for adherence to predetermined limit values. A detected fault is indicated. If appropriate, an opening operation is initiated at the same time. <IMAGE> |
