Imaging microscopic object on multi-pinhole detector matrix - using semi-transparent reflector immobilised in path of successive irradiators from orthogonal array of sources
摘要
The object (O) is illuminated confocally by a matrix array of point sources (Q) via a projecting lens (MO). The reflectoin is diverted by a semi-transparent mirror (ST) through 90 deg. to a stationary matrix (D) of photodetectors. The object and all common optical elements in the paths between it and the two matrices (Q,D) including both in directions at right angles to the optical axis (A) are fixed w.r.t. one another. USE/ADVANTAGE - In confocal laser scanning microscopy, operation esp. with transmitted light is simplified and influence of relative movements of source or detector and object is excluded.
