The circuit board support (15) is fitted with a solid image sensor (8) positioned at one end of an electronic endoscope. A substrate (17) has on its both side faces a conductive pattern (23, 23A). The support has at one end a groove-shaped recess (18), into which the substrate can be inserted. The recess faces carry coupling contacts (21) for substrate and support connection. Pref. the substrate is inserted into the recess upside down to transmit video signals in laterally reversed imaging to the image sensor. Each coupling contact may have a through bore filled with solder on electrically conductive adhesive.
