O=ring testing device for detecting surface errors - uses pressure rollers providing oval ring configuration and intermediate pressure roller

The testing device presses the O-ring (14) into an oval and rotates it about its centre point, using a pair of press rollers (7), lying in the same radial plane, with their axes parallel to one another, and having a peripheral groove locating the O-ring (14). A support roller (2) lies between the press rollers (7) on one side, with a CCD camera on the opposite side, the centre point of the O-ring (14) offset from the axial plane of the press rollers (7) in the direction of the support roller. The peripheral groove in each press roller (7) pref. has a friction coating and the rollers (7) are pref. moved in mirror symmetry between their closed and open positions. USE - For visual detection of surface errors in sealed O-ring used in hydraulic components.
