PURPOSE:TO weld galvanized steel sheets free from blowholes by allowing auxiliary gas to contain oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A gas cylinder 4a of oxygen (O2) in addition to a gas cylinder 4b of argon (Ar) as the auxiliary gas are provided, argon gas and oxygen gas are mixed with each other in a mixer 6, sent to a machining head 7 and injected to a machining point 9 from a nozzle 8. The oxygen oxidizes zinc of the galvanized steel sheets to produce zinc oxide and zinc peroxide which are not evaporated, spatters are reduced and laser beam welding with few blowholes can be performed. |
