The present invention relates to a configurable headend with a plurality of connectors for receiving multimedia input signals; an input module receiving said signals through an RF bus and offering at its output one signal for each of the multimedia services; a data bus connecting all the modules; a controller module configured for: identifying the services; showing a list in an interface; receiving a selection of services; determining the modules connected to the headend, detecting changes in availability of any connected module; dynamically modifying the configuration of the headend depending on changes in availability and indicating to each of the connected input modules the input signals to be acquired depending on changes in availability and on services selected by the user; detecting the resources available at the output of the headend; and sending to the output of the headend the multimedia services selected depending on the detected available resources; and a power bus providing power to all the modules of the headend.
