PURPOSE:To realize photography with fidelity to a subject's atmosphere by automatically controlling a diaphragm and a shutter speed during strobe photography in accordance with the brightness of a subject. CONSTITUTION:During strobe photography, the sum of or difference between a signal obtained by an exposure difference generating circuit B6 and a signal obtained by a switching circuit B3 is calculated by an arithmetic circuit B7 to control a diaphragm on the basis of the result. Namely, the diaphragm is controlled to underexposure when the brightness of the subject by natural light is low, or to over exposure when high on the contrary.
