The invention relates to blinds of the awning type which essentially comprise a winding tube, a support bar on which the free end of the awning is attached and at least two articulated arms which unwind, open out and stretch the said awning by acting on the said bar. According to the invention, the winding tube consists of a central element (1) whose length is less than the width of the awning (2) and of two lateral elements (3), placed either end of said central element and each having an external diameter identical to the external diameter of the central element and a length greater than that portion of the awning which extends beyond each end of the central element so as to form extensions to the said central element on which the lateral edges of the awning are wound, following a winding curve identical to that of the central part of the awning. <IMAGE>
