An oral composition for the prevention of dental caries contains 0.01-3 wt.% of at least one of plant extracts selected from cimicifuga, peony, orange peel, cinnamon, menisperma, chestnut, salvia, etc. The composition has a glucosyl transferase inhibitory effect. The extraction solvent is H2O, methanol, ethanol or aceton. Pref. formulation of the oral composition is toothpaste, oral cleaning agent, candy or chewing gum.
