A method for manufacturing color filter consists of (A) forming a transparent flattened layer on the depressed part of base material so that the surface height of depressed part is equal to that of prominent part, (B) forming dyed layers by selectively dyeing surfaces of color filter layers with t least more than two different colors, (C) forming intermediate layers on the dyed layers, and (D) repeating the process (C) more than two times. The produced color filter has at least more than two different spectroscopic characteristics corresponding to a plurality of pixels which are arranged in the matrix form on the base material with an uneven structure.
