<p>Method and device for packaging fabric bales, there being used to form a protective wrapping a protective foil, the start of which is inserted into the gusset between the bale and the end-piece of the fabric, and thereafter a rotation of the bale in the winding direction taking place. Subsequently, the protective foil is cut off and fastened to the wrapping. If a foil which is shrinkable under the influence of heat is used, the closing of the wrapper ends projecting from the bale is carried out by means of hot-air streams which move radially relative to the bale during the rotational movement of the latter. The shrink foil is pressed against the bale ends by the use of laterally arranged plates. The entire packaging operation takes place advantageously on rollers which receive the fabric bale for a severing operation.</p> |
