PIPE COUPLING

A pipe coupling consisting of male (4) and female (2) elements for connecting and disconnecting a hydraulic or pneumatic piping, has a check valve (14,20) on each element, the check valves being actuated by each other element during connecting and disconnecting operation to automatically open and close the fluid passageway of the coupling. The female element (2) includes an improved valve seat (10) having a stepped outer surface fitting in a corresponding stepped inner hole (50) of the female element. An annular sealing member (21) is attached to the front end face of the valve seat (10), the sealing member having an inner diameter a little smaller than the outer diameter of the rear portion (10b) of the valve seat of a reduced outer diameter.
