Down two opposite sides of the insert are lowered two supporting straps (6) secured in place by bands. The bottom of each strap is bent inwards to pass through an opening in the bottom of the lower most fireclay insert to form a connection inside. Each band is slotted and located by a chip between the outside face of the insert and the band. The chip is U-shaped, each side arm of the chip being shaped to grip the band. ADVANTAGE - The system allows an insert to be quickly and easily installed, even when the existing stack is misshapen.
