Apparatus to enable rotation of a gas turbine engine compressor, eg for inspection by an engineer, comprises a guide 58 for insertion through the fan (13, figs.1,2) of the engine to the compressor blades (32, fig.2). The guide 58 includes a surface 64 arranged to guide a drive assembly 36 through an interior portion of the gas turbine engine to the compressor; and a first fastener 76, eg a lever (84, fig.8A), arranged to fasten the guide 58 to the gas turbine engine. The guide 58 may comprise a plurality of metal sheets and the guide surface 64 may be formed by the edges of the sheets. The guide 58 may have a cavity 80 to receive a stator vane (28). The drive assembly 36 has a drive head 40 eg with blade-engaging teeth 46 on a belt 44 driven by a motor 42, and a first member 48 to engage a channel 68 in one end of the guide 58. |
