The apparatus comprises a rotating body(13) integrated with cam gear(14) and forming a cam curve around the periphery, a protrusion(17) formed on a pick-up(3) which is guided with the cam curve when the rotating body(13) rotates, a guard plate(20) fixed on the periphery of the rotating body(13) which protects an objective lens(3a) by a switching device when the rotating body(13) is stopped, and the switching device, consisting of a protrusion(21) on the rotating body(13) and a leaf switch(22) on a pick-up base(1), which stops the rotating of the rotating body(13) by contacting the protrusion(21) with the leaf switch(22).
