Vibration control for IC engine - monitors rate of change of engine speed and loading and corrects for changes by varying ignition timing

The control system monitors engine speed (n) and loading ( rho ) on the engine to provide rate of change of speed/load signals ( DELTA n/ DELTA rho ). These are compared with programmed values in a range of programs to generate correction signals for the timing. For increases in loading the timing is retarded and vice versa for decreases in loading. The adjustment to the timing is progressive. The timing adjustment is in discrete steps to provide a smooth control. Changes in the throttle setting are taken into account in the derivation of the correction signals. An ignition timing counter provides a simple control. ADVANTAGE - Smoother running engine, simple correction control for ignition.
