Lamp fitting for vehicle - has sealed housing with splash proof vent on top of lamp socket

The lamp housing is sealed and has a fitting in the rear to take the bulb mounting. This fitting has a sleeved socket covered by a curved upper extension (10) of the sleeve. This extension forms the upper part of a venting duct leading to the inside of the lamp housing. The bulb fitting has a radial flange (24) to protect the rear of the vent duct. The sides of the vent duct are bounded by radial flanges from the bulb fitting. The vent into the inside of the lamp is at the front end of the duct. The lamp fitting is fitted with a seal to secure into the socket. ADVANTAGE - Simple assembly, compact venting duct. Splash proof. Construction of vent requires no additional parts. Neck of lamp need not be widened for vent.
