The refrigerating unit has a circuit with compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator. Between evaporator and compressor, there is a pressure-controlled spring-loaded safety valve. This valve is an inclined-seat poppet valve with a head connected to the piston by a rod with internal axial passage. The passage is open to the spring side of the piston and to the suction side of the compressor. The reverse side of the piston is connected by a control pipe to the pressure side of the compressor. The sealing of the suction side entry port to the compressor is complete when the valve is closed. ADVANTAGE - Simple inexpensive protective device for compressor.
