Coagulant and method for purifying water and waste water, the coagulant comprising salts of aluminum and/or iron, the improvement comprising a coagulant having an additional content of a dissociatable calcium compound, thus making the coagulation process more efficient by extending the pH range of optimal coagulation and decreasing the required coagulant dose, mud volum, turbidity and volume of ripening water, thereby providing increased calcium content in purified water with respect to, among other things, corrosion protection. |
